Our informal lectures and talks deliver subject-specific content with well researched supporting presentations.
Our astronomy lectures and talks are delivered with expertise and conviction. They can be tailored to the audience’s level of knowledge using appropriate language to convey the message. After all, not everyone knows the meaning of orbital perturbations or perihelion passage! The presentations are suitable for anyone with a keen interest in astronomy and space, and most are suitable for school Key Stage 2 and above. Our talk about The Solar System has been specially developed for school assemblies, but is equally appropriate as an educational talk for all ages.
We have a range of pre-written presentations, but keep them fresh with regular updates and additions. The current list includes…
Jupiter: King of the Planets
The Spectrum of Space
Giants in Space: Understanding Molecular Clouds
Demystifying the Eclipse
But with just a little bit of notice, we can write bespoke presentations to suit your requirements. And with so much in the news about space missions and new discoveries, why not ask us to address one of these cutting-edge topics.
Our lectures and talks come to life with colourful images and creative graphics. Whether aimed at astronomy societies, schools, or WI Groups, our content is stimulating, vibrant and full of interesting science.
If you’re planning an observing session either side of the lecture and the weather doesn’t play ball, we can add on a planetarium-style sky tour showing what would have been visible in the night sky on your chosen evening. If you decide to book the lecture/sky tour package, you’ll need to book a two hour session; see prices below.
You can use the form at the bottom of the page to send us a message.
Lectures and talks can take place anywhere that can accommodate a projector and screen, plus enough chairs for the audience to sit comfortably (a classroom or village hall will do just fine).
Up to one hour £50
Up to two hours £90
We can bring all equipment needed, but can plug into your projection and audio system if you have one.
