Mobile planetarium shows featuring digital sky maps, awesome images, and astro-simulations.
Suitable for all Key Stages from EYFS to KS5, open days, STEM events and shows for public engagement.
Our Interactive Sky Tours can be tailored to suit all ages and abilities. The sessions are completely bespoke, so we can take you wherever you want to explore! And why not take advantage of our out-of-this-world simulations, which include phases of the Moon, galaxy collision, the cosmic web and a virtual supernova.
Shows are perfect for supporting curriculum-based Space topics and can help students to understand simple principles of space and planetary science. We can help to deliver themes such as Earth & Beyond, Light & Colour, Forces & Motion, and can even offer curriculum links for the Egyptians and Ancient Greece. We can also explain how the brightest stars form shapes that we call asterisms and constellations and why the North Star appears motionless compared with stars moving around the celestial pole.
For schools, we can run split sessions; half led by the presenter and half led by the children. The presenter starts by taking the class on a mini tour of the night sky, then the children get to ask questions about space. These sessions are highly interactive, with the presenter delving into a database of simulations and mini films to help answer the questions. The shows work even better if the class prepares questions before coming into the dome.
Shows can be of any length, from 15 minutes to an hour. And they can be highly sensory experiences, capturing the imagination of individuals with special educational needs.
Our presenters have backgrounds in astronomy, astrophysics and planetary science, which means you can ask them really difficult questions and they should have all the answers!
Cost for Interactive Sky Tours are:
£250 for a half day (unlimited shows)
£400 for a full day (unlimited shows)
