Teacher quoteA live planetarium show featuring digital sky maps, awesome images, and astro-simulations.

Suitable for KS1 and above, SEND, open days, STEM events and shows for public engagement. A great option, too, for Scouting and Guiding groups.

Our Interactive Sky Tour can be tailored to suit all ages and abilities. Each session is completely bespoke, so we can take you wherever you want to explore! Our live shows often include cutting-edge astronomy research, delivered in language that everyone can understand. We encourage questions throughout these interactive shows, which can work really well if participants prepare questions in advance.

These shows are perfect for supporting curriculum-based Space topics and can help students to understand simple principles of space and planetary science like Moon phases, day and night, orbits and the planets as spheres. We can help deliver themes such as Lift Off, Moon Zoom, Infinity & Beyond, Space Explorers, and Up, Up & Away. We can even incorporate stories from Ancient Greece, told through the constellations; introduce ‘star hopping’ to find the North Star; and show how Earth’s rotation makes the stars wander across the sky.

Shows can be of any length, from 10 minutes to an hour. And they can be highly sensory experiences, capturing the imagination of individuals with special educational needs.

Our presenters have backgrounds in astronomy, astrophysics and planetary science, which means you can ask them really difficult questions and they should have all the answers!

Visitors to the planetarium will usually be seated on the floor. The dome will comfortably hold up to:
• 35 KS1 to KS2 students plus supporting adults
• 30 KS3 to KS4 students plus supporting adults
• 30 mixed ages including adults

If any children or adults are not able to sit on the floor, we can include one or two chairs within the above numbers (supplied by the venue). For public shows we can bring floor mats and cushions; all you need to do is ask.

The dome is fully accessible for wheelchair users, but this might reduced capacity. For individual requirements, just drop us an email.

The costs for our Interactive Sky Tour are:

£275 for a half day: up to 3 hours, unlimited shows
£275 for an evening: up to 3 hours, unlimited shows
£450 for a full day:

Travel is charged at 45p per mile from our base in Hastings to your venue and back again. If the journey will take us over 2 hours we may have to charge for an overnight stay which costs an extra £45. If our journey includes tolls and ferry charges, these will be added too.

The travelling planetarium is for indoor use only and needs a floor space measuring 6 x 6 metres plus a height of 3.2 metres. The floor space needs to be clean and dry. Access to electricity is essential.
