Shazam! Come along to the Hastings Museum and Art Gallery and be wowed with our awesome Solar System Experience planetarium show. See the stars and learn about the Sun, Moon and planets in our 360-degree immersive space.

This live, presenter-led show is jam-packed with bite-size space facts; delivered in easy-to-understand, jargon-free language to make it accessible for all. See what the Sun looks like close-up and watch the planets move around the Sun. Zoom into Mars and find out why Neptune is blue.

The Creative Space pop-up planetarium will be set up in the Dunbar Hall, upstairs at the museum. There’s a lift to the first floor for anyone with a buggy or unable to climb the stairs.

Visitors to the pop-up planetarium will be seated on the floor, but we make it nice and cosy with bean bags and cushions, and we always include some chairs for anyone who can’t sit on the floor. We’ll ask everyone to take their shoes off before going inside and to leave bulky things like coats and large bags outside the dome too, where they’ll be looked after by one of our capable space dudes.

Shows will last 30 minutes and each show will have a capacity of 30 people (babies to Baby Boomers). Once a show has started, the door will stay closed until the end of the show. We’ll let anyone out if they really need to go, but they won’t be able to come back in again, as this interrupts the flow and spoils the show for everyone else.
